I see, sage is updating to gap 4.10 and
starting to use the libgap provided by gap itself. I had noticed
this before, but not that gap 4.9 already seems to provide libgap.
The changelog entry for the gap 4.9 package does not mention anything about this. Could libgap be provided by the gap package Bill? I have just realized it while trying to upgrade. In fact, GAP may provide its own libgap stuff : https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/22626 Meanwhile, I am not sure what to do. Is it the ad hoc package still relevant for Sage 8.4 ? The new gap version will require changes to sagemath, but before I can test that I need an updated libgap-sage package.I am on my way to update libgap-sage package . This release needs new packages for the small/trans/prim groups library, which are in the NEW queue. If you maintain packages that depends or build-depends on GAP, please check whether they still builds/works with GAP 4.9 and tell me about any issues. I will update my own GAP packages.
