If you seek sponsorship via the Debian Science Team, just file an RFS
and fill in an entry in the SoB page.

Also, please keep in mind that we are currently focusing on getting
Stretch out in the next few months, so new packages have much lower
priority at the moment.

I opened an RFS (see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=851936) and I filled an entry in the SoB page (https://wiki.debian.org/DebianPureBlends/SoB).
