It would also be nice if someone could persuade singular upstream to
pollute the namespace less. Requiring CPPFLAGS (and some tools like .pc
to make it easy to get the required CPPFLAGS) is a good workaround,
but a proper library should not need such workarounds. (Especially as
such workarounds easily lead people to do other stupid decisions, like
hiding flags in the compilation output).
