it's possible that you are right.

However, what else could we try to do?
I am open to suggestions of alternative strategies.

Do you think that we should set up a petition on
http://www.petitiononline.com/   ?
Could this work?

Do you think that we should find a team of developers willing to
clean-room re-implement an API/ABI-compatible framework under the terms
of the LGPL v2.1 ?
Could this be done in a not-too-long time?

Something else?
