This should be no problem. Sponsoring your work can be easily done
inside Debian Science. Just start by moving the packaging to Debian
Science VCS (Git or SVN at your preference) and follow the Debian
Science policy[1] for Maintainer / Uploaders field.
BTW, I added singular to the mathematics task of Debian Science. Any
other task where this package might be useful?
