Re: checkinstall lacking on stable

There is probably something wrong in the "recipe" I found for Sarge, or it does
not apply to "etch" following my modifications.
It I set (1) and (2) as below stated,
apt-get update
ends with:
Failed to fetch http:/www.backports.org/debian/dists/etch-backports/Release.gpg
Unable to connect to http:
Failed to fetch
http:/www.backports.org/debian/dists/etch-backports/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz
