Not to give you pressure, but do you have an estimate when you might
package it?


Also, how difficult would it be to allow multiple versions to be
installed, including the -dev and -header packages?  For example, you
could install headers and libraries in versioned directories and use
the /etc/alternatives mechanism to point to the default?

The reason I ask is that when a new version comes out we want to
validate that it hasn't changed in an unknown way.  This typically
means compiling simulations code against both versions and running
them side-by-side.
