Updated Geant 4 Debian source package now available

Hi debian-science,

I've made available an updated version of a Debianized Geant 4 source
package. This version fixes a lot of Lintian errors, creates the shared
libraries with properly versioned sonames, and installs them into a
directory seen by the runtime linker. The version number is still the
same, 4.8.0-1. It's at the following URL ("apt-get source geant4")

deb-src http://borex.princeton.edu/~kmccarty/ unstable main

You will first need to "apt-get source clhep2" and compile and install
that. Both should also compile on sarge although I haven't tested this.
(Note that packages compiled on sarge vs. sid are not compatible due to
the C++ library transition) I still have not made binary packages
available since I am waiting to hear back from a GEANT 4 collaboration
member about whether I would have permission to distribute them.

If you compiled binary packages from the source package I mentioned in
December, you will need to uninstall all of them before installing the
new ones generated by the new source package.

The source package builds the following binary packages:
* geant4 - toolkit for simulation of particle/nuclear physics in detectors
* geant4-examples - example programs that can be built with the Geant 4
physics toolkit
* geant4-common - architecture-independent configuration files of Geant 4
* libgeant4-4.8-0 - libraries for the Geant 4 physics toolkit
* libgeant4-dev - development libraries for the Geant 4 physics toolkit
* geant4-headers - include files for the Geant 4 physics toolkit
* libg4opengl-4.8-0 - OpenGL bindings for the Geant 4 physics toolkit
* libg4opengl-dev - development library including the OpenGL bindings
for Geant 4

To see how to install Geant 4 data files and how to set up environment
variables, see the README.Debian file in the geant4-common package (or
at debian/geant4-common.README.debian in the source package).

regards,
