But I had the following issue during autopkgtest:

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libchemistry-openbabel-perl : Depends: perl (>= 5.40.1-6) but 5.40.1-3 is to be installed
  libopenbabel7 : Depends: libxml2-16 (>= 2.14.1) but it is not installable


We're currently in the libxml2 transition [1], so breakage like this is to be expected in unstable. Sometimes using testing during this kind of work is easier.
