The version of sysconfig-hardware is 0.0.5 and my Kernel version is 2.6.18  - 64bits

debian:~# uname -a
Linux debian 2.6.18-6-s390x #1 SMP Fri Oct 10 09:21:05 UTC 2008 s390x GNU/Linux
debian:~# dpkg -l |grep sysconfig
ii  sysconfig-hardware                0.0.5                                Hardware configuration
debian:~#

The s390-tools version is 1.5.3-1:

debian:~# dpkg -l |grep s390-tools
ii  s390-tools                        1.5.3-1                              A set of fundamental utilities for Linux on
debian:~#

And the Debian version is 4.0.  ETCH

Which version of sysconfig-hardware is this? If it is older then 0.0.8
and you are using a kernel >= 2.6.26 then this is expected.
