That's a bug which appears to still be present in the installation
kernel. Appearantly, your DASD are connected over at least three
chpids, and the third one has a problem.

The kernel incorrectly switches off the complete device instead of
just one path. You have two options of working around this:

- - get a newer kernel.
- - find out what the problem with your dasd is and fix it.
