I have tested the bridge code for Linux for S/390 successfully. I am 
currently submitting patches to upstream. It may take a while until they will 
be accepted, though. I have put some files to 
http://people.debian.org/~gt/openoffice.org/ for those, who are interested in 
the source. 

199_remove_s390oe.diff removes an obsolete architecture, so that I can reuse 
S390 as CPUNAME

200_s390_build.diff  contains the upstream patches
oo-debian.patch  contains the Debian packaging patches
