Hi all,
As agreed in the April team IRC meeting and general discussion on IRC,
I'd like to call for volunteers. Please reply if you are interested.
## Editor
You need to have good technical writing skills; have a good
understanding of Debian packaging in general, how Rust team operates,
overall status of packaging of things written fully or in part in Rust;
and be falimiar with Rust.
You should strive to improve the quality, accuracy, correctness, and
friendliness of the book.
We'll set up groups, rights and procedures so only editors can merge MRs
to the book. It's best changes are proposed as MRs and discussed, even
those from an editor.
We should have at least 3 editors.
While I only have surface-level rust skills I think my rust-packaging
skills are quite decent. I would be willing to volunteer as editor for
forky (time permitting).
## Proofreader
You need to be willing to proofread ;)
It's OK if you don't meet one or more criteria for editors listed above,
or aren't a member of the team, or aren't even terribly familiar with
Debian packaging - that means a pair of fresh eyes, which is valuable,
as we aim to make the book a good entry point for newcomers to the team,
and Rust packaging in Debian in general.
This is not a formal position, just read and comment what you find needs
improvement.
The more proofreaders the better ;)
I think I can't make time to be a proofreader, too :(
But I might read individual contributions if time permits it.
best,
werdahias
