Joining the team

Dear Rust Team,

I would like to join the team to package and maintain the Rust 
dependency tree required by pycddl. My Salsa handle is 'merkys'. I do 
not use IRC and I would prefer to continue without using it.

I have read about debcargo-conf repository and managed to get my 
packages as branches there (not pushed yet). I am a DD, thus I will not 
need sponsoring.

Do I understand it correctly that each 'pending-*' branch at 
debcargo-conf should contain a single commit, and should be merged into 
master after a package clears NEW?

Are there any team policies that I should read and agree before joining?
