Пытаюсь разобраться с природой сообщений Gdk-WARNING: missing charset in fontset creation. Оказалось, что GTK тут в-общем-то не при чем, поскольку ошибка возникает в сабжевой функции. Вот выдержка из мана, которую я не понимаю в упор:
