Unfortunately my UTF-8 encoded russian text still John> displays as boxes. No-no! I tried for example the following: * created some utf-8 test file with gvim * started unicode xterm like uxterm -fn '-bitstream-bitstream vera sans mono-medium-r-*-*-17-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1' * and tried to view the result cat test-utf8 but I sow squares only :( So may be there is something wrong with that terminals? When I used gnome-terminal and selected in menu Terminal -> Use coding -> UTF-8 and all is ok! So please describe how do you check the coding? -- Serge Olkhowik <solo@isd.dp.ua> ISD Configuration Management Team <cm@isd.dp.ua>
