Сейчас логи посмотрел - другая ошибка была:

Как только перепутал ?:(.
access beyond end of device - что то встречал, но не помню где.
В комментариях в ядре написано по этому поводу
/* This may well happen - the kernel calls bread()
without checking the size of the device, e.g.,
when mounting a device. */
так что возможно, что ничего страшного нет.
