Kernel 2.4.22 + GForce4 mobile troubles

Решил перейти на subj. и столкнулся с траблами. При загрузке иксов
стартует XFree86, съедает 90 процентов ресурсов, Экран чёрный.

система перестаёт реагировать на клаву и мышь. По сети убиваю XFree86,
после чего запускаю снова - всё на ура:

пытаюсь помочь себе скриптом вроде:

работает, но как то неправильно енто ......
с ядром 2.4.21 всё работает без проблем, а здесь не хочит. Может я при
сборке ядра чего-то намудрил ? На карточке висит
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4363, пробовал NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496 -
такие-же результаты. Есть идеи как с этим бороться ?
