Looks like you imported the dsc file or included all Debian changes in 
a single commit here

Please follow
https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/Ruby/Packaging#Updating_a_package_to_a_newer_version

and commit each logical change separately. Also try to make a single 
commit for all changes to changelog.
