Package: reportbug
Version: 4.4
Severity: wishlist
It would be good to use the gtk+ interface with an external editor for writing
the bug description.

my_preferred_editor=emacs
It's missing all $my_preferred_editor features. I like when the
applications I use call my configured editor when I'll have to edit
something, and this is a good feature of the text interface of
reportbug.
Thank you for the suggestion. However, it is unlikely to ever be
implemented, therefore I'm now closing this bug after 11 years.
For a better user experience with the GTK ui, if you don't like the
builtin editor, the best way is passing the message to your preferred
MUA for editing and submitting.
