Package: reportbug Version: 7.5.3 Severity: wishlist X-Debbugs-CC: owner@bugs.debian.org In several cases we have had situations where novice bug submitters thought that the newcomer tag applies to the bug submitter instead of to the suitability of the issue for newcomer contributors. Here are some examples of where I have removed the newcomer tag: https://bugs.debian.org/792240 https://bugs.debian.org/898437 https://bugs.debian.org/867096 https://bugs.debian.org/775051 The submitters in all these bugs seem to have been using reportbug. I was thinking that reportbug should hide the display of the newcomer tag from the tag list when the reportbug mode is novice. This would likely restrict the tag to folks who will use it correctly and probably wouldn't prevent folks who know about the tag and what it is for from either manually adding the tag or using standard/etc modes. -- bye, pabs https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
