Bug#1026881: x2goserver: unsuable desktop, GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest in xsessionlog, X11 issue?
Package: x2goserver
Version: 4.1.0.3-5+b1
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: pb@pobv.de
Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
Installing debian testing bookworm on a proxmox virtual machine, installing
mate-desktop and x2goserver, access the desktop via x2goclient from debian11
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
on the same infrastructure accessing a debian11 x2goserver works fine
from the same client. Running the desktop from within the proxmox
web gui works fine.
* What was the outcome of this action?
the desktop hangs and is unusable. The following errors can be
seen in the file .xsession-x2go-debiantesting-errors
---
dbus-update-activation-environment: warning: error sending to systemd: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited: Process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status 1
(mate-session-check-accelerated:4252): Gdk-WARNING **: 11:24:46.853: The program 'mate-session-check-accelerated' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest'.
(Details: serial 179 error_code 152 request_code 143 (GLX) minor_code 17)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

after some more repetitions hundreds of lines per second with the
following content appear in the log
---
Warnung der Fensterverwaltung:Die für Komposit benötigte Erweiterung »composite« fehltWarnung der Fensterverwaltung:Log level 128: unsetenv() is not thread-safe and should not be used after threads are created
---
one can click on some parts, e.g. the menu, sometimes (not on the first try)
a terminal comes up but that has no window decoration and renders over the
main top panel.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
a working desktop.
