Argh, it seems the ftp team came to a different conclusion because Thorsten
Alteholz just told me on the debian-lts mailing list the release team were
responsible for the removal. :-)

And now it seems Thorsten is willing to take care of the removal. I reassign
the bug in a minute. :)
