Update DVD images - is anybody still using them?

[ Added cc to debian-release for information, please respond to
  debian-cd. ]

Hey all,

I planned to mention this in the images team BoF at DebConf, but
forgot in the mass of other discussion there.

For a very long time, we've been including *update* images alongside
each point release of Debian installer images. These update images
contain *just* the changed binary and source packages from release 0
in each major release series, up to the current point release. e.g.:

 * in 12.0.0 there were no update images (not a point release)
 * in 12.1.0 the update images contained the bits added since 12.0.0
 * in 12.2.0 the update images contained the bits added since 12.0.0
(so the new bits added in 12.1.0 and 12.2.0)

These update images are designed to extend an existing full set of
DVD/BD discs, to save people having to replace the whole set when
newer packages are added in a point release.

So, that's the background...

I've not had any feedback in a *very* long time to say that anybody is
actually using the update images. Hence, I'm planning on dropping them
for trixie (including the 13.1 point release we're doing today!). I'll
keep producing them for the bookworm series until it finishes, as I
don't want to change things in the middle of a stable series.

***TELL US NOW*** if you're still using the update images and they
matter to you. Otherwise they'll go away.

Cheers,

Steve
