Dear RT,

[ Reason ]

An issue has been found in live-build and affects the version in Bookworm:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1111039

The short of it is that a local dpkg diversion for /etc/os-release
that was meant to be only in the immutable live filesystem of an image
can get copied into installations too, depending on the installation
method (e.g.: using Calamares).

This bugfix rectifies the situation on already installed systems, so
that upgrades work as intended and disruptions are avoided. This
package is picked because it's prio:essential so it's guaranteed to
apply the hotfix everywhere.

[ Impact ]

Bookworm images that were generated with live-build from Trixie, if
they included a live
installer, install a system where /etc/os-release cannot be upgraded
due to the leftover diversion. 12.11 live images are affected for example

[ Tests ]

autopkgtest and salsa ci cover upgrades, and manual testing showed it
worked as intended.

[ Risks ]

The diff is small and targeted at this issue

[ Checklist ]
[x] all changes are documented in the d/changelog
[x] I reviewed all changes and I approve them
[x] attach debdiff against the package in testing
