Dear RT,

[ Reason ]

An issue has been found in live-build and affects the version in Trixie:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1111039

The short of it is that a local dpkg diversion for /etc/os-release
that was meant to be only in the immutable live filesystem of an image
can get copied into installations too, depending on the installation
method (e.g.: using Calamares).

The bugfix in live-boot ensures when a livefs is copied to become a
rootfs, the content is adjusted and /etc/os-release is restored as a
symlink, since the immutable livefs content is not appropriate for an
updatable rootfs. It goes together with the bugfix for live-build at
#1111122

Another small fix for a separate bug is included, that caused
live-boot to check too many checksums instead of the first working
one.

[ Impact ]

Images generated with live-build in Trixie, if they include a live
installer, install a system where /etc/os-release cannot be upgraded
due to the leftover diversion.

[ Tests ]

Tested locally in an image built with the corresponding live-build,
and in live installer images.

[ Risks ]

The diff is small and only contains two bug fixes.

[ Checklist ]
[x] all changes are documented in the d/changelog
[x] I reviewed all changes and I approve them
[x] attach debdiff against the package in testing
