Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal Control: affects -1 + src:dbus-broker User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org Usertags: unblock Dear RT, [ Reason ] There is a corner case when updating from bookworm to trixie, where until the reboot trying to reload dbus-broker results in the call hanging and timing out. This is not a functional issue, as nothing breaks, however apt upgrade does sit there hanging for more than a minute for the timeout to happen, which is not nice, so I'd like the workaround to be included in trixie. The new upload adds a workaround in the maintainer script to avoid this. As a reminder, dbus-broker is marked as a 'key' package because of a build dependency in at-spi2-core, which I've since removed (but the fix hasn't been uploaded yet): https://salsa.debian.org/a11y-team/at-spi2-core/-/merge_requests/9 [ Impact ] Small, it's a non-default, alternative implementation. Only a packaging change in the postinst. [ Tests ] Works and boots, and there is large code coverage thanks to the systemd debci job. [ Risks ] Low, as it's a non-default, alternative implementation, and there's lots of test coverage. [ Checklist ] [x] all changes are documented in the d/changelog [x] I reviewed all changes and I approve them [x] attach debdiff against the package in testing unblock dbus-broker/37-2 Thanks!Attachment: debdiff
