Dear RT,
[ Reason ]
Usual monthly stable point release for systemd, I'd like to have it
unblocked for Trixie, please. As usual, an assorted variety of bug
fixes and hardware id database updates.
Packaging changes are some fixlets for the systemd-boot + shim
integration in the maintainer scripts and a new system group for udev
rules.
More importantly, there are 2 fixes for autopkgtest. One is a fix for
a sporadic failure introduced by the test for the CVE fix from last
month. The second is a workaround for a regression introduced by the
latest kernel in unstable, that breaks all runs in unstable:
https://bugs.debian.org/1108270
debdiff attached, git diff:
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/compare/v257.6...v257.7
[ Impact ]
It's systemd, so the impact crater would be quite large with lots of smoke
[ Tests ]
Test coverage in debci is extremely good, on x86 it's ~75% code coverage.
[ Risks ]
Stable releases are generally stable, but the occasional regression
does pop up every now and then. It's been rare in bookworm.
[ Checklist ]
[x] all changes are documented in the d/changelog
[x] I reviewed all changes and I approve them
[x] attach debdiff against the package in testing
unblock systemd/257.7-1
Thanks!
