Package: release.debian.org User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org Usertags: unblock X-Debbugs-Cc: osinfo-db@packages.debian.org Control: affects -1 src:osinfo-db Please unblock package osinfo-db [ Reason ] This updates osinfo-db to the latest tagged release. [ Impact ] This is a data-only package that updates the data to the latest release including OS updates for the first half of 2025. A few other Debian-specific data improvements are mentioned in debian/changelog. The purpose of osinfo-db is to provide a database of guest operating systems for use by virtualization provisioning tools using the libosinfo library. The two primary users are the GNOME Boxes and Virt Manager apps. I also updated debian/gbp.conf to explicitly use pristine-tar. osinfo-db has been using pristine-tar for many years so this just makes it easier for people to build osinfo-db from Debian Salsa. [ Tests ] osinfo-db has both build tests and autopkgtests. I also successfully ran this manual test case: 1. From Debian Testing, open a terminal and run sudo apt install gnome-boxes 2. Install osinfo-db 0.20250606-1 (from Unstable) 3. Run gnome-boxes 4. Click + then press "Download OS" 5. Select Debian testing x86_64 (netinst) 6. The ISO will download to your Downloads folder 7. When it completes, the wizard will prompt you to create a Debian testing virtual machine. Complete the wizard. Turn on Express Installation and enter your desired username and password. I also recommend increasing the RAM from 2.0 to 4.0 GiB. 8. The virtual machine will start and install Debian testing unattended. 9. Once the login screen shows, click the virtual machine and log into the Debian testing virtual machine. 10. Still inside the virtual machine, open a terminal and run this command: cat /etc/os-release to verify that you are using Debian 13 (trixie). 11. Afterwards, you can power off the virtual machine. [ Risks ] Key package since it's pulled in by libosinfo-1.0-0 which is a dependency of localsearch (provided by tracker-miners-fs in trixie). Also GNOME Boxes is in the key package set since it's a dependency of gnome-devel. gnome-devel is built by meta-gnome3 but is not actually installed by default. Maybe that detail can be tweaked for forky. [ Checklist ] [✔️] all changes are documented in the d/changelog [✔️] I reviewed all changes and I approve them [✔️] attach debdiff against the package in testing unblock osinfo-db/0.20250606-1 Thank you, Jeremy BíchaAttachment: osinfo-db_0.20250606-1.debdiff
