The GNOME Team is ready to upload GNOME Shell 48 Beta to Unstable. The
plan is to do the transition with this version since 48 RC won't be
released for a few more days and this is the version we have tested.
Once the transition is complete, we will upload 48 RC to Unstable.
GNOME 48.0 will be released the week of March 17. No transitions are
needed for those updates.

Affected packages
-------------------------
Source uploads are needed for these packages, all owned by the Debian
GNOME team:
- gnome-kiosk
- gnome-remote-desktop
- gnome-shell
- gnome-shell-extensions
- gnome-shell-extension-gsconnect
- gnome-shell-extension-tiling-assistant
- mutter
- xdg-desktop-portal-gnome

This package should be uploaded either by the maintainer or as an NMU:
- gnome-shell-extension-blur-my-shell

Extensions to be removed
--------------
If these extensions are not fixed in time, they will need to be
removed from Testing:
- gnome-shell-extension-espresso
- gnome-shell-extension-flypie
- gnome-shell-extension-hamster
- gnome-shell-extension-no-annoyance

RC bugs were filed against those 2 weeks ago.

Other Info
--------------
This tracker is good:

Ubuntu needed to use a manual hint for the transition to migrate. I
believe this was also needed for Debian & Ubuntu for GNOME Shell 47. I
guess the package relationships are a bit complex for britney to
automatically understand.

This is the last classic transition I expect from the Debian GNOME
team for trixie.

Thank you,
Jeremy Bícha

Here are some suggested hints to finish this transition:

remove gnome-shell-extension-espresso/10-3
gnome-shell-extension-flypie/27-1
gnome-shell-extension-hamster/0.10.0+git20240714-2
gnome-shell-extension-no-annoyance/0+20240813-8312e01-2

age-days 2 gnome-kiosk/48~alpha-2 gnome-shell/48~beta-4
gnome-shell-extension-tiling-assistant/51-1
xdg-desktop-portal-gnome/48~rc-1

In Ubuntu, it appeared like we needed a britney hint. I thought we did
in previous Debian transitions too but I don't see it in the list of
hints. Maybe this list isn't needed then:
hint gnome-shell/48~beta-4 mutter/48~beta-7 gnome-kiosk/48~alpha-2
gnome-remote-desktop/48~alpha-2
gnome-shell-extension-tiling-assistant/51-1
gnome-shell-extensions/48~rc-1

Added some hints.

And it migrated.

Cheers,
Emilio
