I have now tested installing each of the packages in bookworm main that install initramfs hooks, together with old and new versions of initramfs-tools. I excluded kxc which is not installable (bug #1063700). I also tested installing all firmware packages built from firmware-nonfree/bookworm. The initramfs contents were identical between old and new versions, aside from: - Expected additions to the included drivers - Expected changes to initramfs-tools' own files - dropbear-initramfs seems to randomise the name of the root user > Please go ahead.
