Given that the laptop I use on the DebConf right now has 100% likelihood of
having this firmware installed (because of no network otherwise), you might
want to test stuff on it.
On the other hand, while the package can't be removed nor upgraded without
manually messing with both the hook and the postinst, it couldn't be
installed in the first place without doing so as well, thus people are at
least aware. Thus, my priority is in getting rid of raspi-only bits...
In any case, I'd be glad helping test -- and you can put your hands on
this box if you fancy so.
