Hi,

As described in [1], I’d like to go ahead with a replacing the Freedesktop.org
implementation of pkg-config with pkgconf. This will involve pkgconf
taking over the binary package pkg-config.

I’m currently running a rebuild of all packages using pkg-config [2] to
determine if there are issues that need addressing during this
transition. So far I found one issue [3] that affects a couple of
packages, I’m going to discuss it with the pkgconf upstream.

Results of a previous rebuild from the last year are available at [4],
but they’re not very relevant anymore as some packages are no longer in
Debian, and some failures were unrelated to pkgconf itself.

The current pkg-config maintainer gave me a go-ahead [5], so I’d like to
start with the process as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Andrej

pkgconf 1.8.0-10 migrated, so let's consider this transition done.

Cheers
