Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal Tags: bullseye User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org Usertags: pu Hello, I would like to do a little update to tasksel, to make tasksel install CUPS for all desktop tasks. In the past (buster and before), it was like this as well, via a different approach: there was a "task-print-service" task for this, which has been removed for bullseye. Holger [ Reason ] This adds the CUPS system to all installations, which select a desktop environment to install. This changing is in testing already, and works fine there (tested yesterday). [ Impact ] There have been several reports from users being irritated by CUPS not being installed on their desktop system. Such problems are new to bullseye. [ Tests/Risks ] Installation tests have shown, that there are no problems installing CUPS on desktop installations, like broken/unresolvable package dependencies, so there should only minor risk here. -- Holger Wansing <hwansing@mailbox.org> PGP-Fingerprint: 496A C6E8 1442 4B34 8508 3529 59F1 87CA 156E B076diff -Nru tasksel-3.68/debian/changelog tasksel-3.68+deb11u1/debian/changelog --- tasksel-3.68/debian/changelog 2021-05-31 21:06:32.000000000 +0200 +++ tasksel-3.68+deb11u1/debian/changelog 2022-02-20 08:06:36.000000000 +0100 @@ -1,3 +1,12 @@ +tasksel (3.68+deb11u1) bullseye; urgency=medium + + * Team upload. + + * Install CUPS for all *-desktop tasks, now that task-print-service is no + longer existing.
