A couple more things:This seems like it would qualify for the stable-updates special case to be pushed out before the next point release. Granted, this is not a popular package, so I'm not sure if that affects the decision.
I don't immediately have plans to make updates for buster or stretch, but if anyone feels like I should, I could do that (or at least try; I haven't checked dependency versions, etc.).
