[ Impact ] Every point release brings several dozen bugfixes. No new functionality is added or breaking changes allowed. [ Tests ] Automated tests + manual testing by Kodi users [ Risks ] The struct release policy of upstream ensures no breaking changes are allowed past BETA releases. Point releases bring only bugfixes and security fixes.
