Hi Paul,

Thanks for your reply.

I do not expect a wildcard as you're saying. I do feel already guilty
for not doing enough tests in Unstable early enough, though as I wrote
earlier, I'm not entirely to blame, if you consider the amount of
components involved and the amount of work it represents.

I've been able to do extensive tests with OpenStack Victoria (the
release currently in Testing/Unstable), though mainly with the Buster
unofficial backport. So I well know that everything on that side is in
order. It's just a mater of fixing the last Python 3.9 compatibility
problems with Eventlet and friends: kombu, amqp, etc. To be honest, I'm
not sure yet which component is breaking the world, which makes it hard
to file the correct bug against the correct package right now.
Hopefully, I'll know better about this next week, when I have time to
investigate more.

I'm confident to be able to fix the issues, if I get the help from the
right persons within the OpenStack community (they are generally
friendly and helpful). What I don't know though, is how long it's going
to take to fix things, and if I will need newer versions of some
components (eventlet comes to mind). Also, at this point, it looks like
I wont make it in time for the soft freeze at least, which is why I
wanted to let you know early enough. Hopefully, that was the right thing
to do. :)

Cheers,

Thomas Goirand (zigo)
