Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org Usertags: transition Though this is a transition, I don't think it requires the usual coordination with the release team because it won't entangle with anything. src:mysql-5.7 generates binary package libmysqlclient20 and is currently in unstable. However, it is blocked from testing in favour of MariaDB by order of the release team. Therefore libmysqlclient20 does not exist in testing. src:mysql-8.0 is ready in experimental and moves to libmysqlclient21. I'd like to upload this to unstable. Packages in unstable that need a MySQL client library build depend on default-libmysqlclient-dev which sends them in MariaDB's direction. So while this might be technically considered an unstable-only transition, it should not affect testing. The release team will presumably want to move the migration block on src:mysql-5.7 to also include src:mysql-8.0. Thanks, Robie Ben file: title = "mysql-8.0"; is_affected = .depends ~ "libmysqlclient20" | .depends ~ "libmysqlclient21"; is_good = .depends ~ "libmysqlclient21"; is_bad = .depends ~ "libmysqlclient20";Attachment: signature.asc

Indeed, there are no rdeps for libmysqlclient20, so there should be no binNMUs required here (tcl8.6-tdbc-mysql has an alternative dependency on it, but that's about it). Please go ahead with this, I'm also closing this bug report, but feel free to reopen if you find that there's any action needed from us. > The release team will presumably want to move the migration block on > src:mysql-5.7 to also include src:mysql-8.0. Thanks for the notice, I've updated the hint. Cheers, Emilio
