Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org Usertags: unblock Dear release team, Please unblock package rabbitmq-server This last Debian release adds the packaging of rabbitmq-diagnostic in /usr/sbin, which is a very useful tool. It'd be a diss-service to our users to not have it in Buster, and I don't think this is controvertial at all. Not counting the removal of debian/gbp.conf (which we don't use anymore), the attached debdiff is a one-liner. unblock rabbitmq-server/3.7.8-5 Cheers, Thomas Goirand (zigo)diff -Nru rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/changelog rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/changelog --- rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/changelog 2018-10-30 09:28:31.000000000 +0100 +++ rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/changelog 2019-06-17 22:59:25.000000000 +0200 @@ -1,3 +1,14 @@ +rabbitmq-server (3.7.8-5) unstable; urgency=medium + + [ Ondřej Nový ] + * Removing gbp.conf, not used anymore or should be specified in the + developers dotfiles. + + [ Thomas Goirand ] + * Also package rabbitmq-diagnostics. + + -- Thomas Goirand <zigo@debian.org> Mon, 17 Jun 2019 22:59:25 +0200 + rabbitmq-server (3.7.8-4) unstable; urgency=medium * Remove Elixir version patch. diff -Nru rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/gbp.conf rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/gbp.conf --- rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/gbp.conf 2018-10-30 09:28:31.000000000 +0100 +++ rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/gbp.conf 1970-01-01 01:00:00.000000000 +0100 @@ -1,11 +0,0 @@ -[DEFAULT] -upstream-branch = upstream -debian-branch = debian/rocky -pristine-tar = True - -[buildpackage] -export-dir = ../build-area/ - -[dch] -id-length = 7 -meta-closes = Closes|LP diff -Nru rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/rules rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/rules --- rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/rules 2018-10-30 09:28:31.000000000 +0100 +++ rabbitmq-server-3.7.8/debian/rules 2019-06-17 22:59:25.000000000 +0200 @@ -38,7 +38,7 @@ < scripts/rabbitmq-script-wrapper \ > $(DEB_DESTDIR)$(PREFIX)/sbin/rabbitmqctl chmod 0755 $(DEB_DESTDIR)$(PREFIX)/sbin/rabbitmqctl - for script in rabbitmq-server rabbitmq-plugins; do \ + for script in rabbitmq-server rabbitmq-plugins rabbitmq-diagnostics; do \ cp -a $(DEB_DESTDIR)$(PREFIX)/sbin/rabbitmqctl \ $(DEB_DESTDIR)$(PREFIX)/sbin/$$script; \ done

We want to release in two weeks and adding new features is a station long past. I spent quite some time thinking about it as this particular change seems acceptable as an exception, however I fear the precedent will make our future work more difficult as it will invite more request that don't qualify and need careful analysis.
