I am sure there are people on the release team that are more
knowledgeable about C++ symbols, but it really helps the whole team if
you would explain why you believe, or what you did to investigate if, it
is harmless to remove this symbol.

"have to" is a bit strong. You could nearly always go with a "+really"
version an revert the new snapshot. (Not saying you have to do that, but
it is an option and going through unstable is a lot better for QA and
the team.)
