Bug#918687: transition: exempi
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition
Hi,
I'd like to start a small transition for exempi which bumped its soname
from 3 → 8 in 2.5.0
The reason for the soname bump is that upstream dropped a lot of private
symbols in the 2.5.0 release and was overly cautious not breaking any
3rd party packages.
I think we could have gotten away without a soname bump but I also don't
see a reason to revert this particular upstream decision.
I rebuilt all rdeps and unsurprisingly they all build just fine.
The auto tracker at
https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-exempi.html
looks fine.
Please let me know when I can upload 2.5.0-1 to unstable.
Regards,
Michael
