The upstream patch was bad, but thankfully Felix Lechner has come up
with a patch for kopete (current upstream version in experimental) that
allows building against the updated linphone libraries, see Bug#890606.
He made the patch against the current upstream, not against the version
currently in unstable. I've asked the kopete maintainers whether there
is anything preventing an upload into unstable for this.
If this gets sorted we don't have a blocker for the linphone transition
anymore. This would also help for the upnp migration (Bug#884635),
because the new linphone does not use libupnp anymore.
