What kind of side effects do you have in mind?
The change you approved creates a dependency chain
wicd-daemon -> python-wicd (= 1.7.4+tb2-5~deb9u1) -> net-tools
The dependencies for wicd-daemon whose removal you question were:
wicd-daemon -> net-tools | ethtool
wicd-daemon -> net-tools | iproute2
I can make an update to the pu request with the wicd-daemon dependencies
restored, but I'm wondering under what circumstances this would make any
difference at all.
