Should I close bug #903878 in stretch?

Hello Release Team,

I'would like to know your opinion, should I fix the bug 903878 [1] in rhash package (the bug applies ONLY to stretch), or just close it as wont-fix.

I'm not sure that a patched package will be accepted, because it's not a security issue, it's just an "unmet recommends".  What's the current policy on such fixes?

I hope that this is the right place to ask.
