There were no 5.8.7 packages included in 9.2 so far as I can see. Which
related packages do you believe were updated?

Okay my bad. In that case the mem leak must be related to some other component, cannot isolate it. My findings in the dedicated bug report about ksmserver. This bug seems anyway hard to debug, and maybe 5.8.7 contains a fix for this.
