I *am* -- all packages (currently) get have r-api-3:

  edd@bud:~$ apt-cache show r-cran-rcpp | grep r-api-3
  Depends: libc6 (>= 2.14), libgcc1 (>= 1:3.0), libstdc++6 (>= 5.2), r-base-core (>= 3.3.1-1), r-api-3, littler, r-cran-pkgkitten
  edd@bud:~$

Next April they will have r-api-4. *This case* did not warrant puzting with
r-api-* and you will have to take my word for it.

That's truly and madly saddening. So I will just code around you and direct
users to a different repo. We have been doing that via an informal backports
repo available at all CRAN mirrors anyway.

It's too bad, but we all have our standards to live by.

Apparently I am now rogue as far as the release teams goes. Life goes on.
