Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org Usertags: rm Please remove the recent non-maintainer upload from me of ksh with the version 93u+20120801-3.1 . It has the wrong version number since the last released version was 93u+20120801-2. As soon as this version is removed I'll do a NMU with version -2.1 Thanks -- ============================================================================ Christoph Martin, Leiter Unix-Systeme Zentrum für Datenverarbeitung, Uni-Mainz, Germany Anselm Franz von Bentzel-Weg 12, 55128 Mainz Telefon: +49(6131)3926337 Instant-Messaging: Jabber: martin@jabber.uni-mainz.de (Siehe http://www.zdv.uni-mainz.de/4010.php)begin:vcard fn:Christoph Martin n:Martin;Christoph org;quoted-printable;quoted-printable:Johannes Gutenberg-Universit=C3=A4t Mainz;Zentrum f=C3=BCr Datenverarbeitung adr:;;Anselm Franz von Bentzel-Weg 12;Mainz;Rheinland-Pfalz;55128;Germany email;internet:martin@uni-mainz.de title:Leiter Unix-Systeme tel;work:+49-6131-3926337 tel;fax:+49-6131-3926407 tel;cell:+49-179-7952652 x-mozilla-html:FALSE version:2.1 end:vcardAttachment: signature.asc

It has the wrong version number since the last released version was 93u+20120801-2.The Release Team can only remove packages from testing, whereas this would need to be actioned in unstable, which would be the FTP Team's territory. In practical terms, however, removing a package from the archive in order to replace it with an upload of the same package is redundant and confusing - simply upload the new version. As soon as this version is removed I'll do a NMU with version -2.1You can't make version numbers of published packages go backwards, so that would either need an epoch or a "really"-style version number.I'm therefore closing this report as there's nothing that can be done without a new upload.Regards, Adam
