By "recent" you apparently mean "newer than unstable". That's *not* how
things work - testing should at all times be no newer than unstable.

Backporting the current sid package to stretch might make sense,
parachuting in a new upstream direct to testing does not. I'm seriously
tempted to remove the package from tpu right now.
