Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org Usertags: rm Dear release team, I've been thinking about this for a long time already, and I now believe it's better for me to go ahead and ask for the removal of some packages from Jessie. The python-xstatic packages are designed for OpenStack Juno (and more specifically for Horizon, the OpenStack dashboard). Since Jessie only contains Icehouse, I don't see the point of having to maintain these packages for the life of Jessie. I thought it was a good idea to have them so that subsequent releases of Horizon would be eased by having these packages, but it's looking like upstream is switching to another system (this is still open to a discussion upstream). Therefore, I'm asking for the removal of the below packages from Jessie: python-xstatic python-xstatic-angular python-xstatic-angular-cookies python-xstatic-angular-mock python-xstatic-bootstrap-datepicker python-xstatic-bootstrap-scss python-xstatic-d3 python-xstatic-font-awesome python-xstatic-hogan python-xstatic-jasmine python-xstatic-jquery python-xstatic-jquery-migrate python-xstatic-jquery-ui python-xstatic-jquery.bootstrap.wizard python-xstatic-jquery.quicksearch python-xstatic-jquery.tablesorter python-xstatic-jsencrypt python-xstatic-qunit python-xstatic-rickshaw python-xstatic-spin The below Javascript libs also have no dependencies, and I believe it is more reasonable to not have Jessie shipped with them. Please also remove: libjs-jsencrypt libjs-spin.js libjs-twitter-bootstrap-datepicker libjs-twitter-bootstrap-wizard As much as I know, OpenStack Horizon is the only package that uses the above packages, and again, version 2014.1 doesn't (it unfortunately still uses embedded versions). Cheers, Thomas Goirand (zigo)
