apparently the dir_to_symlink could not reliably work when changing
the arch:any to arch:all in the package (dpkg bug #770004).
Thus I have prepared another upload that had dropped all --link-doc
and I am using only symlink_to_dir that's more resilient to strange
things I have done to the cyrus-imapd packages fixing RC bug #769553
in the process.

I have tested upgrades:
wheezy->sid
jessie->sid
and both does upgrade without problems.
(And I promise I will never use dh_installdoc --link-doc ever again.)

Thanks for looking into this.
One question though; do all of these packages already have a Pre-Depends
on ${misc:Pre-Depends} (or the right version of dpkg)? The diff does
not show and the control file from tracker.d.o[1] suggests that
cyrus-pop3d (among others) is missing the Pre-Depends field
